Because your legacy is about more than what you leave behind.

Most people don’t put off estate planning because they don’t care. They put it off because the whole thing feels heavy and vague — you’re being asked to picture a future you’d rather not think about, then wade through paperwork and legal words that don’t sound like they were written for people like you. So it goes on the list, and the list keeps getting pushed. I know what waits at the end of that list, because it waited for my own family. My grandmother’s will wasn’t designed properly, and after she was gone my two aunts sued my dad. The money eventually got sorted out; the family didn’t. A huge rift opened up, and everyone paid for it — the grief, and then the fighting on top of it. That’s the part that breaks my heart, and it’s why I do this work.
For more than twenty years I worked as a CPA, which meant families called me when the numbers got complicated: taxes, a small business, a retirement account, an inheritance nobody was expecting. In those conversations I kept noticing the same thing — the people who needed a plan the most usually felt the least equipped to start one, and what they really wanted was someone to sit beside them and explain it in plain English. So I made the jump into law myself, and I’m licensed here in Alabama. It’s an odd path, accountant first and attorney second, but I chose this part of the law on purpose: I’d already seen what a badly designed plan can do to a family I loved, and I decided I’d rather spend my career keeping other families out of it.
Here’s what working with me looks like: a real conversation where I ask about your kids, your people, your home, your business, and what you’d want to happen if life took a turn you didn’t plan for. No lecture about how long you’ve been meaning to do this — I’ve heard every version of that story and none of it surprises me. I’ll tell you plainly what you need and what you can skip, we’ll agree a flat fee before anything begins, and your plan will be written so clearly that nobody in your family ever has to guess what you wanted. No courtroom. No fighting. No rift. Then I stay reachable, because a plan that gathers dust isn’t protecting anybody.
